Hi guys! Just wanted to give a brief status update on the ceremony. Spoon and us are very much still working on it, but personally, we (risefromtheashes) have had a pretty rough week and we've also been having a bit of difficulty finding a groove in how to go about writing this whole thing. That, and there's sixteen entries to give out awards to... which means, with full guest appearances for everybody, it is kind of a Herculean task.
But - work's in progress, ceremony's aboooooout 25% done, and we've been figuring out a strategy that should make things go faster now! Thanks for your patience, everyone.

Sorry to hear that the week has been unkind to you, Sunny. That said, I wish you, spoonmaster, and the rest of the Case Comp team all the best.
Hopefully, everything goes smoothly during the Award Ceremony and no suspicious persons from any inconspicuous organizations come in to crash the ceremony and prevent the winner from being chosen...
Or worse... having the ceremony put on indefinate hiatus do to an unexpeted mainframe shutdown that will last between 1 hour and 2 days. I sincerely hope nothing of that magnitude ever comes to ruin the Award Ceremony, for if it does, I'll be very REDD in the face! I will certainly stay tuned for more until it's showtime. See you on the flip-side!

Life’s been pretty hectic for us lately, and we’ve also hit a bit of writer’s block. With the large number of entries, the ceremony is taking longer than expected, and we may need another month to complete it.
To help decide how to move forward, we’ve put together a poll in AACD with the following options:
• Release the award winners now, with the full ceremony to follow later.
• Abridged ceremony (e.g., no guest appearances for the entries).
• Wait another month for the full ceremony.
If you’re not in AACD, please cast your vote here and let us know which option you'd prefer by replying in this thread.

Release the results and take your time on the ceremony. No reason to stress over churning it out when irl obligations are getting in the way.
Stuff happens, but at least getting the results out means you can properly have fun with the ceremony without over a dozen people anxiously waiting for the bandaid to be ripped off.

I agree with Trybien. Comp ceremonies are an important part of the comp cycle, but ultimately an extra. If a comp ceremony's scope gets out of hand, and it becomes like a case that has to be properly written, something isn't working right and it should be treated as a case of its own. So it stands to reason that the results take priority, also on account of the comp entrants having, themselves, worked on a deadline.

Congrats everyone, and especially first place! Turnout was great and from my impressions of the reviews there was quite a few "winning quality" cases in there that could have taken any other comp.
