[V6] Centering the Text

Post by Cortonith »

How to Center a Text
----------------------------------------
To center the text on editor, you must do the following:
- Two frames that was specified must have "Merged with Next" checked.
- On the first frame...
     - Leave certain spaces, leave a dash (-), and leave another space.
     - Set it on any typing sound you should need to specify. Other frames have the same typing sound as the first frame.
     - Set it to the typing speed of 10.
- Select ALL text, place any color. However, replace [#/colour:#XXXXXX] with [#/colour:transparent].
- On the second frame...
     - You can type anything you want to type.
     - Set it to the typing speed of 0.25 if specifying the time and location, like on Trials.
- On the third frame...
     - Leave one more space and a dash.
     - Set it to the typing speed of 10.
- Select ALL text, place any color. However, replace [#/colour:#XXXXXX] with [#/colour:transparent].

If you want to have another line, you must do the following:
- On the third frame (on the first line)...
     - Leave one more space and a dash. Then enter, then leave certain spaces, and another dash, and another space.
     - Set it to the typing speed of 10.
- Select ALL text, place any color. However, replace [#/colour:#XXXXXX] with [#/colour:transparent].
- On the fourth frame...
     - You can type anything you want to type.
     - Set it to the typing speed of 0.25 if specifying the time and location, like on Trials.
- On the fifth frame...
     - Leave one more space and a dash.
     - Set it to the typing speed of 10.
- Select ALL text, place any color. However, replace [#/colour:#XXXXXX] with [#/colour:transparent].

You can add the last line but you must do the following as the second line. However, the fifth frame must match the third frame, the sixth frame must match the fourth, and the final frame (seventh) must match the fifth.

Now the final results, which the first and second line included (however, the second line will show Martha's name instead), I'll show you the demonstration tutorial.

EDIT: Breakthrough has been sought after things from the other forum, HAS applied things here.

I can move it to the v6 Tutorial forum easily enough!

Why did you decide to include the dashes? The canon games don't do those.

I'll edit the post to explain your question.

Question: Why do we need to use merged frames instead of surrounding the empty spaces with instant tags? I'm assuming the first frames with the typing speed of 10 are meant to get the centering done as fast as possible?

I believe someone asked with a similar question.

I thought so. That said, if you surround the empty space with instant tags (just like surrounding them with colour tags, but you replace the word "colour" with "instant"), they get treated as if they're just one space, so the impact on the text blip noise is minimal.
