What was your relationship with Gabriel? Did you two get along? I'm assuming 'yes', given your interactions, but still. Have to ask, you know?
Rachel takes a couple of deep breaths. She uncomfortably walks over and sits down as well, wringing her hands in her lap. "Yes, our relationship was... fine. I mean, we were siblings. We had some quarrels, b-but... he was my big brother. We weren't as close as adults, with him so far away, but... there were no major problems.
What did Gabriel do for a living? Did he ever mention having some sort of trouble at work?
"He was a lawyer... He was a partner at his firm," Rachel answered simply. "Being a New York lawyer is obviously tough, but I never heard of any sort of 'trouble' or anything..."
Did you notice any strange behavior from him, or anyone else, since you arrived to the mansion?
After a few moments in thought, Rachel shook her head. "I was hoping Asher would be a bit more respectful, but... it is what it is."
Can you describe your movements from last night, after leaving dinner?
"After dinner, I talked with Gabe a bit in his room. About the lawsuit," she added. "I then read in the lounge by our rooms until I went to bed..."
Have you heard or seen anything unusual?
Rachel seemed to slightly shrink at this question. "It's been nothing but unusual things since yesterday, hasn't it? I d-don't have any ideas about any of them, though..."
Have you discussed the plaque with anyone after we found it?
This question seemed to puzzle her a bit. "You and the other two have been carrying that plate around since we found it, and it's kind of hard to notice... Some of the others asked about it, so I said it was the reverse side of the plaque from the lounge..."
Can you think of anyone that might've done this?
After a long pause, Rachel squeaked out a "No."
Gabriel mentioned a lawsuit against Daniel. Could you give me more details on it?
"It's... what I told you yesterday. Chen & Geller sued Danny over copying a trick." She shook her head. "I don't think it's related to the case, and G-Gabe said I shouldn't talk about ongoing lawsuits..."
I'm assuming you don't live in the mansion. Where do you live? And how long has it been since you were in the mansion?
Rachel paused, and then gave a small nod. "I live in Phoenix, Arizona. The last time I came here was... a bit over two months ago, when Danny first got sick."
Your last name is different. I take it you have a husband? Or, is he...?
Rachel nodded. "That's right. Well, not anymore." Rachel looked past Edwam. "I'm divorced. I just felt changing my name again was more hassle than it was worth."
What do you do for a living?
"I'm a real estate broker." She doesn't elaborate any further.
What is your current financial situation?
"Is that really any of your business?" She asks, defiantly drawing herself up. However, just as soon as his fresh breath of life seemed to swell into Rachel, she deflated back down. "I can at least tell you I don't have any major problems," she says, staring at the ground.
Are you aware of any other person in this mansion being in significant financial trouble?
Rachel shakes her head, keeping her head focused on the ground.
Did you notice anything strange during Daniel's wake?
Rachel shakes her head again.
Given that it's likely that the explosion that happened was caused by someone here - any likely suspects for that? (Anyone that might've had a reason to go along with it, had Daniel asked them to?)
Rachel pauses to consider this one, but then shakes her head yet again. "W-Why would Danny even ask someone to do that?" She asks, looking up at Edwam.
While we're on the subject of it, I don't believe I ever asked - what kind of person was Daniel, in your eyes? I've... certainly gotten an impression from Asher, but...
Rachel's eyes drift back down to the floor. Maybe this wasn't the best thing to ask? But then she speaks, her voice filled with sorrowful pride, "He was... amazing. He was brilliant, and clever, and charming when he needed to be... He could be cold and calculating, but he was fiercely loyal to his friends and family." She sighed. "Asher is... Asher just inherited his father's stubbornness. Neither would ever give into the other and... you can see what's happened. I had hoped that Danny would realize that he could completely drive Asher away, or Asher realized that Danny was just trying to do the best for him, but..." She sighed again.
What was the relationship between Daniel and Gabriel?
"Growing up, they were pretty close, I think," Rachel answers. "At least, they always did the same activities and clubs and stuff. Except magic. That was just Danny. They were close in age, and both boys, and I was a girl and there was a bit more of an age gap between me and them, so they kind of had their own bond, I guess. When we grew up, Danny went to Hollywood and Gabe went to New York, so I guess they kind of... went their ways."
