Rain: Another Magical Girl RP

Post by DSY »

Rain
Another Magical Girls RP
Setting: The setting is the rainy, hilly town of Soggan.

Known for rainy season every season, and a sky perpetually covered in clouds.

Basic Plot: A week ago, your life changed. A creature had come to you, begging for your help, and for you to become, a Magical Girl.

Since then, things haven’t been going so well. You’ve started having horrible nightmares. Blurry and shaky, yet somehow always making you wake up in a cold sweat.

Since gaining these powers you’ve yet had the chance to really use them for much of anything, these monsters you’ve been called to fight are nowhere to be seen.

Was it all some kind of trick or lie?

Writing: The Writing of the Role Play is...I suppose open form? I feel like making up a bunch of systems and stuff would just over complicate these things. So, even though it might be detrimental, I guess, write it like just most other RPs.

Enemies: The main enemies of the RP are mysterious creatures known as Ghouls. These creatures seem to come in many varieties but are simplistic in nature. They reside in the Negative Zone, which is a sort of parallel world to the real world.

From the real world, things that are active in the Negative Zone seem to be blurry shadows or smudges. They cannot be interacted with from the real world, and they are not affected by the real world. Example: Rain falls around these shadows, things picked up in the wind go right through them, cars and the like pass them by, the sun shines through them etc.

From these sorts of blurry floating smudges, Ghouls can pull people into the Negative Zone and eat them.

Ghouls are mostly docile, so the reason for their sudden aggression is unknown.

They come in various forms with various powers and abilities.

The Negative Zone: The Negative Zone, in greater detail is a sort of other world inhabited by seemingly the undead. Spirits, Ghosts, Spectors, Ghouls etc.

Most things in the Negative Zone are docile and do not affect the Real World. But when they do reach out to it they create rifts, or those blurry, floating smudge things mentioned before. These rifts look rather weird and can be seen easily because of how out of place they are anywhere. Touching one will have your hand pass completely though it unless the creature making it in the first place wishes to grab you and pull you into it. Once in the Negative Zone, you must defeat what brought you in there to escape.

For some reason, Magical Girls always create rifts while in the Negative Zone. If pulled into the Negative Zone by a Magical Girl it is possible to leave without defeating her, she simply needs to leave the Negative Zone herself. You can however fight her and, should you win, be transported out.

A Magical Girl in Magical Girl form can enter and leave the Negative Zone will, via their own blurry portal thingy, unless dragged in by someone else.

Seers: Seers are the names of the Spirit Animal creatures that create Magical Girls.
They are strange, floating, specter like creature that can talk and fly. Roughly the size of a pet dog or cat, and can assume any form but tend to suit to the forms of animals.

Seers can only be seen by Magical Girls.

Despite having the power to create Magical Girls, and knowing a far bit about the Negative Zone. They seem adamant to explain why they set about making Magical Girls and why they are so keen to keep you on your path.

Magical Girls: Magical Girls are humans with powers granted to them by Seer's after making contracts with them. Once the contract is made, the Magical Girl and Seer become partners and cannot leave one another. Magical Girls gain the ability to see all Seers and other sorts of spirits. Magical Girls gain their powers by joining with their Seer's. This gives the Magical Girl her special Clothes, weapons and Powers. Seers still have the power to talk and converse while joined with the Magical Girl so they're more like Weapons and Armor in this scenario.

What forces give Magical Girls what powers is not completely known as the powers Magical Girls display are often more representative of themselves then their Seers.

Technically speaking, Magical Girls can transform anywhere assuming their Seer is willing.

Soggan: Noticeable Places in the small town.
Spoiler : :
Hills High: A High school on a low hill. 3 Floors tall. Starting Location. About the furthest east town goes.

Residential District: The never ending maze of houses, I’m sure yours is around here somewhere.
South West of Hills High

Masakado’s Bridge: Not the bridge’s real name, in fact it doesn’t have a name. Kids just gave it one because it’s a big bridge they like to play on. The bridge is over a revane and connects the Residential District to the hill Hills High is on.

Graveyard: At the edge of the town. In the day, should you go there, you can usually see a few people there at almost any hour. At night it’s super spooky though. Kids hold their Tests of Courage in it. North of Hills High.

Police Station: A small station. The whole force is pretty tiny in this pretty tiny town. Lucky for us all crime is pretty small too. In the Residential District.

Restaurant District: Supposedly the “Shopping area” though it’s more like a market, a couple of convenience stores, a game shop, and a lot of fast food places. North East of Hills high and North of Residential District

Elementary and Middle School: Kind of far out and closer to the city. Not really a landmark of the town. Even further west of the Residential District.

The Forest: Never go there. Ever. You are forbidden.
North of the Graveyard.

Everywhere in town is accessible by bus, you just gotta wait for it. The Forest is not accessible by bus and if you think about going there you should stop and do anything else.

Spoiler : Application: Return of the Laser Princess :
Magical Child
Character Name: Adela Marowska
Sex/Gender: Female
Age: 14 (9th grade)
Appearance: See here. Standing at 4'10" (and a half!), Adela is short for her age. Her straight, golden blonde hair is done up in a braided ponytail in the back and reaches three inches below the bottoms of her shoulders. Eyes are a light, almost icy, blue. She wears contacts. Puberty started late for her. Skin is fair and face shape is rounded.
Clothing (Standard) - Adela often doesn't bother changing out of her school uniform on weekdays. When she is wearing something else, she usually has a light white jacket that is a bit big for her. The jacket can be turned inside out into a black hooded raincoat. As a representative of normal wear for her: a black yoke-waist skirt going down half way past her knees and a shirt covered by a pattern of skewed blue and white triangles. Regardless of her outfit, black Mary Janes for shoes and white, ankle-length socks.
Personality: Adela is a perfectionist, always wanting to do things "right" rather than quickly. "Right" means both by others' standards (when relevant) and her own. She has a strong sense of justice, so as you might expect, she does not like bullies much. Although she's less social than most, she has no problems socializing with anybody else.
She is very slow and questioning when taking on new commitments, but this is because of her resolve to finish anything she starts. This includes both the dedication to finish a school project and the loyalty to be there for a friend.
Adela is often proud of her work and will gladly show it to anybody who will pay attention. Due to the lack of any "negative" experiences in her past, Adela is an optimist to a fault and can be overly trusting with people who are not obvious bullies. She enjoys reading in her spare time.
As might be expected given her perfectionism, she is quite organized, and her first order of business in group projects is to figure out what everybody else is doing. After that, she checks in with the others between working on her own part of the project. She's never been very good at sports, but for some reason, that's never bothered her either.
Backstory: No tragic backstory here! Adela grew up as the youngest of three siblings, with a sister six years older and a brother three years older. Her mother (a Soggan native) stayed at home when Adela was younger but has since taken up secretarial work at the local police station. Her father proofreads technical engineering manuals and works remotely from the company's main office in the big city. Adela was always an A-student in school. She knew she could do it, and she didn't want to disappoint her parents. She's also taken up the piano and some cooking. In school, Adela has always gotten on well enough with other students. She's hardly "popular" but has no enemies to speak of and a group of friends. Adela was close to her sister, who still keeps in touch but has since gone off on her own and left town. And her brother Bernard is insufferable, just because he's a senior now.

Magical Girl Appearance: See here. She wears a crown of ivy, with the leaves bordered by white. For the costume proper, I'll be using the Disney animated Cinderella's dress and gloves as a base. Change both to white. The gloves need modification: for the hands of the glove, the palm has a golden magic circle design on it. On the back of the hand, directly over the magic circle, is a black disc raised about a half centimeter above the rest of the glove. This also has a gold design on it, though this one appears to be circuitry. Her shoes are white slippers. They are neither glass nor have special magic properties.
Magical Girl Powers:
Adela's power is lasers. She can fire lasers from the palm of either/both of her gloves at will. She can control the radius and intensity of her lasers, but increasing either drains her stamina. When she's fully spent, she falls asleep. (Adela is not yet aware of that detail.) She currently has five "modes" for lasers, one general purpose laser and four more specialized ones.
Standard - Your standard laser beam. The intensity of the laser fades off as it goes through more "stuff." This is the one mode of laser that will affect anything in its path, rather than just the target.
Second Harmonic - For when your standard lasers aren't precise enough. By combining the laser beams from both hands, Adela can create a beam that will only strike the surface of her target.
Infrared - Infrared lasers cause the target to vibrate more or less rapidly. The effect will wear off after the target is no longer under laser fire. Sustained targeting causes an increase in vibrational frequency, but the faster the vibration, the more the target "wants" to slow down and thus the harder it is to go faster. Infrared lasers cannot be seen by unaided human eyes. This technique is hard to do on large or complicated systems, so it's better suited to turning the ground into a trampoline to catch someone's fall than using it on an enemy.
Microwave - Microwave lasers cause objects to begin rotating. More massive objects require more energy to rotate. Adela does not need a line of sight to use microwave lasers, and when she uses them on an unknown object, she can "feel" the rotation, allowing her to gauge the shape of the object. Although these lasers can pass through things that are not the target, they have a short range.
NEXAS - X-ray lasers pass through anything that is not the target and create or neutralize an electric current. Only metal can be targeted.
Magical Girl Weapon: Laser Gloves

Seer
Character name: Veatrycze
Sex/Gender: Female
Appearance: A European kestrel
Personality: In true genre fashion, since Adela is an organized perfectionist, Veatrycze is lazy (almost?) to the point of negligence and completely carefree. Having found herself on Earth without much explanation, she has concluded that this amnesia must just be something that happens to her species from time to time. She's gotten somebody to sign the contract, so her role is pretty much done, right? It remains to make the most out of this new stage of her life, i.e., sneak time on Bernard's GameStation and sleep while Adela is at school. Apparently, this bird is nocturnal. Despite all this, Veatrycze is also a lover of stories, both the hearing and telling. This has made her rather good at listening to people, despite herself.
[D]isordered speech is not so much injury to the lips that give it forth, as to the disproportion and incoherence of things in themselves, so negligently expressed. ~ Ben Jonson

Spoiler : Ow the Edge :
Magical Girl
Character Name: Kuro Yami
Sex/Gender: M
Age: 15
Appearance: An average-looking teenager with unkempt black hair and brown eyes. Wears rather plain clothes, usually a dark-colored t-shirt and jeans, under a gray hoodie. And sneakers.
Personality: If Kuro could be described in one word, that one word is “not a people person”. He’s not openly hostile to others or anything, but he’s rather blunt, and makes no effort to be friends with anyone. Despite that, he does love to show off and look cool in front of others.
Backstory: Kuro was that kid who always tried to play M-rated games before he was even a T. A fan of emo/punk music, shoot-em-ups, slasher films, and Shadow the Hedgehog. Now, he’s ecstatic to have these powers, and is more impatient than anyone else about the current lack of eldritch horrors to maim and kill.
Other: His magical girl "element" is the moon.

Magical Girl Appearance: His eyes turn blood red and his hair turns moonlight silver (though just as disheveled as ever). He’s got a silver studded jacket so small he wears it like a vest over a bright red shirt and baggy black pants with a chain belt and a silver wolf skull for a belt buckle. The look is topped off (or bottomed off) with a pair of black and red combat boots.
Magical Girl Powers: Primarily a damage dealer. His signature move is “moonbeam”, a silver ray of hard light he can shoot from his sword which can pierce or slice enemies from a distance. The “bullets” from his gun are a more concentrated, more powerful version of that, but take up a lot more energy. He can’t maintain his form after firing up to six.
Magical Girl Weapon: A shining silver katana with a blood red handle in his right hand, and a pitch black pistol in his left.

Seer
Character name: Howler
Sex/Gender: M
Appearance: A chibi silver wolf with red eyes. Actually looks quite cartoony compared to Kuro’s more serious tone.
Personality: Pretty much Kuro’s opposite. Very bubbly, and always trying to talk him into being more social, or meeting/getting to know the other magical girls, much to Kuro’s annoyance. Despite his upbeat attitude, he does take his job seriously. He may not know where he’s from or why he’s doing this, but obviously it’s the right thing to do. And it sounds like fun!

Spoiler : Pretty Skeptical About This :
Magical Girl
Character Name: Kyomou Torimaku
Sex/Gender: Bro
Age: 17
Appearance: Kyomou is a medium sized dude with a skinny, yet healthy build. He isn’t muscular, but he presents himself proudly with a stable and inviting posture. His hair is medium length and wavy, though black as the darkest night. A pair of rectangular glasses rest upon his small, sharp nose and in front of his hazel eyes. Slight dimples are noticeable when he smiles, and his shiny white teeth are simply perfect. His jawline is sharp, and the chin has a gentle cleft. As for the neck, it is average sized with no noticeable adam's apple. The bags under his eyes are painfully noticeable, and it is clear that he does not get much sleep.

The daily wear of Kyomou Torimaku is rather simple, stylish, yet still somehow sloppy. On top, he tends to wear a white t-shirt that is clearly too large for him covered in coffee and tea stains. He wears a cheap black blazer over it, unbuttoned as the buttons have fallen off. For pants, he wears tight, beaten up khakis with similar stains to his shirt. The shoes he wears are equally as cheap dress shoes that haven’t been shined in quite a long time. As for his glasses, they are the only part of his outfit that looks high quality as they are red and shiny. The lenses aren’t smudged, and transition into sunglasses when in bright lights

Personality: Kyomou has serious trust issues and he is physically unable to prevent himself from jumping to the worst when he meets new people. But do not fret, for he is trying to overcome this! Despite the paranoia and delusions, he wishes nothing more than being a normal teenager and a productive member of society. When in front of others, he will usually put on a happy face and act positively; however, this is not because he wants to deceive them, but rather because he genuinely wants to be that kind of person! In a freudian way, he believes that by acting like that, he could perhaps become that person. Due to his mental instability, it is not hard to tease Kyomou or mess with him. Claiming that he has something wrong is a quick way to get on his bad side. If he thinks you are lying to him or trying to manipulate him, he will become incredibly wary and suspicious. Once he knows for a fact that you are trying to deceive him or others, Kyomou will no longer keep up his facade and do everything in his power to expose you. Here is the thing though, he has to be 100 percent positive before doing so. In fact, he will never claim to know something unless he is 100 percent positive, though this is mainly out of fear of being wrong. Because of this, he will usually talk in possibilities and probabilities and rarely ever talk in a matter of fact kind of way. His one sense of hope at the moment is that maybe one day he will recover from his talent, and destroying that will send him into despair.

Backstory: From a young age, Kyomou never knew his parents. The only family he ever spent time with in his early years was his grandma, who despite her old age earned a steady income working at a nearby convenience store. Life was not easy, but it was simple. He was an odd child, to say the least. He would frequently misplace things and forget promises that he made to his grandma. Sometimes, he would even misremember events and instructions. When he began school, he was excited to have the ability to learn more about the world. Kyomou was an excellent student who loved reading ahead of the class, though he was never very organized, failing to turn in homework assignments despite insisting that he completed and put it in his bag to take to class the next day. Eventually, he learned about the internet and how one could find literally any information one could desire. Since his grandma could not afford a computer, Ryomou would frequent the local library to do extensive research on topics that interested him…

And then one day he stumbled onto something that shook him to his core. As he was scrolling through Reddit on a topic about emotional abuse, there was an account left by an anonymous user discussing his experience with being gaslit by their spouse. Reading the user’s account, he felt a dreadful pang in his heart. Things disappearing where he put them… misremembering important details… forgetting promises… and the list went on. All of these examples felt a little too familiar. Kyomou then began to question if his memory was as bad as his grandma told him it was or if he truly was terribly disorganized. He doubted this of course. Why would the grandma that loved him do such a heinous crime. There was only one thing he could do, try and prove it.

That night, after putting his homework in his bag, he decided to stay awake and see if his grandma did anything to it as he figured that if she was the mastermind, she would be the one responsible for his missing assignments. Upon going to bed, he pretended to fall asleep and eventually heard a shuffling. There was someone in there going through his backpack. Cautiously, he took a peek and saw his grandma and his suspicions were confirmed. Unfortunately, he was not entirely sure what to do with this information. Fearing repercussions from accusing his grandma of emotionally abusing him whether he could prove it or not. Would she harm him? Would he be sent to an orphanage and be adopted by worse guardians? He could not help but be skeptical of the outcome and decided he would keep this information to himself and persevere through.

From then until present day, he still lives with his grandma all while maintaining a strong face. Those who knew him personally would vouch that while being pretty goofy and enjoyably teasing his friends, he was generally a good-natured kid who looked out for those he cared about. For Kyomou, this was no more than a mask he wore to prevent himself from going insane. After confirming the emotional abuse his grandma, he found that trust for others was something he was no longer able to create. The time he would normally spend researching topics that interested him turned into exploring conspiracy theories, government cover ups, historical villains, and any other topics that highlighted the dishonesty and heinous acts perpetrated by monstrous human beings. Kyomou accepted that anyone could be hiding an insidious dark side, but this knowledge made conversation both awkward and uncomfortable. Besides, what if some evil person catches wind of his skepticism and silences him before he can discover their misdeeds?

When it came to his behaviour online, he was an entirely separate beast. While he was never outright a terrible person, he had a tendency to be brutally honest and expose others for sketchy activity. On his blog “Truth or Fiction | Lies, Secrets, and Conspiracies”, he wrote articles anonymously disproving conspiracies and exposing online personalities. At first, Kyomou would only target small scale users and content creators to discredit them. Over time, his online persona gained a massive following and fans were begging him to strike larger personalities such as politicians, celebrities, and corporations. While the prospect of fame and glory was enticing, the research and blog post writing took a lot of time. The nights he would spend working took a toll on his psychology and his personal relations.

Enough was enough, and Kyomou needed to retire the blog. Enabling his skepticism had made him paranoid and delusional, seeing conspiracies and lies that just did not exist. Unfortunately, Kyomou was unable to bring himself to permanently shut down his blog in case he needed it in the future, so he left a single lined post “Currently on indefinite hiatus.” Now free from his self-inflicted obligations, Kyomou took a few months offline and spent time with his classmates to forge friendships. While he was unable to truly open himself up to any of them, this was the first time he felt truly at ease… that was until he was chosen to be a Magical Boy.

Other: Just because you are a magical girl doesn’t mean he thinks you serve justice. Prepare to be tested. Also, it seems that while he is in Magical Boy Form, he doesn’t need his glasses.

Magical Girl Appearance: Enshrouded in a bright white, semi-loose-fitting hooded cloak that reaches his knees. The edge of the wrists and hood is a dark purple silk that contrast against the pure white. His feet are covered in white tabi, and wears waraji for footwear. Around his waist is a dark purple obi where his sheathed sword is attached. Covering the top half of his face is pitch-black demon mask with a look that appears to be peering into the hearts of who meet its gaze. When the hood is up, two round squirrel ears with purple linings poke out from his head.
Magical Girl Powers: Magical Boy Kyomou can magically alter the speed of light, either speeding it up or slowing it down. Note that this doesn’t not affect the wavelength or frequency of light, so no one will be irradiated by this power. What it can do though is severely extend (or decrease) the time it takes for light to reach one's eyes, naturally affecting the frame rate at which people see. This ability can affect other light based powers.
Magical Girl Weapon: Diamond-Blade Katana

Seer
Character name: Slasher Fanta
Sex/Gender:Male
Appearance: Plump purple squirrel garbed in simple blue samurai robes and sports a traditional Japanese topknot.
Personality: Not fond of the other seers, and skeptical of their judgement when it comes to selecting Magical Girls. Hyper-serious and cannot stand BS.
Other: Chose Kyomou due to his history of truth searching and exposing lies.

Spoiler : :
Magical Girl
Character Name: Kazuko Ota
Sex/Gender: Trans girl, she/her and they/them are both appropriate.
Age: 17
Appearance: Yeah so this is the general idea. As you can see: A lot of the same shade of blue, with some white added in after she realized that all of one color felt weird. Kazuko is about 177 centimeters tall, though this can be hard to tell because she's basically always slouching. Smells like strawberries because of her perfume. Not seen in the image is a large scarf that she swears regardless of the weather.

Personality: Despite her best efforts, Kazuko can charitably be described as extremely silly. While outwardly doing her best to give the impression of a mature high school senior who can give valuable life advice to her underclassmen, it takes around five seconds in her presence to find out Kazuko is nowhere near this cool. She's extremely bad at lying, has the worst poker face you'll ever see, tends to have extremely skewed priorities, and often gets into very deep internal monologues/debates with herself about things that she should not be thinking about so seriously. Combine this with the fact that it's extremely easy to provoke her, which will lead to her either crawling into a corner and engage in internal self-deprecation, or just plain make her mad. Any moment of genuine coolness will be immediately ruined as Kazuko brags about how cool she was. And to go back to that part about her having the worst poker face ever, it's worth noting that she will often try to seem like she isn't afraid of any threat, which is immediately countered by just looking at her panicked expression, or noticing her shaking legs, or really having any sort of perception when it comes to judging other people. Point is, she's kind of a disaster.

Adding onto all of this is the fact that Kazuko is extremely dishonest with herself. She wants friends, but pretends to see the world in much more cynical terms than she actually sees them in, afraid of being hurt by being honest and instead taking the more torturous road of passing off any optimism as irony which just ends up hurting more over time. She's the type who'd say she doesn't want to be friends with someone while desperately hoping that they spend more time with her. While she'll do her best to show gratitude towards anyone who helps her out, she will be extremely embarrassed and try to avoid any terms that she feels are overly mushy, according to her own warped definitions, which are not very good at all.

It might surprise you (or not) after hearing all of this that Kazuko does actually have the heart of the ideal magical girl, even if it's not obvious at first. Kazuko will ALWAYS panic at the sign of a genuine threat, but she will never run if running means not saving someone. When she forgets about all the ridiculous internal mindgames that her anxiety plays on her for just a moment, she can actually be genuinely a kind, fun person to be around, albeit a bit strange. She's not the reliable senior that she wants to be, but if she stopped being so focused on trying to grab onto that image, she'd realize that acting normally would result in people seeing that she's fairly reliable and surprisingly easy to get along with. ... Considering everything else that's been said so far, you can imagine that she's very oblivious to this, and so the ironic cynicism takes hold. Maybe she'll get there one day. Maybe.

Backstory: Kazuko's got a fairly normal family, or at least she would if they were actually around more often: Two parents who are constantly away on business trips, and an older brother who's also out of the country to study at the college of his choice. This kind of loneliness might be suspected to have caused a lot of the quirks in her personality, but it's a fairly recent development. Up until she was about 16, either her mother or father was usually around (very rarely both), and her older brother only left for college on that year too. But apparently 16 is old enough for Kazuko to basically live on her own, so that's essentially what she does.

Apart from that, Kazuko is perhaps best-known for making radical image changes each time she starts a new grade and hoping no one calls her out on it, which is extremely silly since she's lived in Soggan her entire life so people would notice. She didn't even realize the time passing by and has no clue what her future aspirations are, a fact she's extremely self-conscious about.

Magical Girl Appearance: Perhaps you're familiar with the tale of Cinderella? Donning glass slippers and a blue dress, Kazuko comes across very differently in her magical girl outfit. Her hair stays exactly the same, but the change in posture, outfit, and general attitude makes her come across very differently. While Kazuko's personality doesn't change as a result of her transformation, she slouches a lot less and seems a bit more put-together, maybe because she's aware that being as silly as she is in her normal form would look especially ridiculous while dressed up as Cinderella. For whatever reason, Kazuko's scarf noticeably gets a lot more extreme in this form, seeming more like an oversized cape that she's wearing the wrong way, which kind of dilutes how graceful she'd otherwise seem. But she seems fond of it, so it's not going away.

Magical Girl Powers: Kazuko's slippers cause ice to form underneath her feet, which she can use to skate on the battlefield. Despite the fact that she's wearing glass slippers and not skates, the same function occurs. Kazuko has MUCH more control of her balance and general movement as a secondary effect of her powers, which is great because otherwise she'd be slipping everywhere at all times. Kazuko is capable of firing ice from her hands and feet, the only restriction being that she generally tires herself out if she overdoes it for too much, or if her limbs are restricted.

Kazuko is capable of temporarily encasing someone in ice, but this is much more likely to only effect a certain body part (such as her aiming for a hand holding a weapon). Anyone with enough magical energy is capable of breaking free from this by simply focusing enough magic on the encased limb. More to the point, Kazuko is incapable of encasing someone in ice permanently since maintaining that eats away at her magical reserves very quickly, meaning that even in the best/worst circumstances an opponent would just need to wait for her to either go back to her normal form, or run out of power. As you may have guessed, the fact that this is magic prevents anyone from suffering the actual consequences of being trapped in ice. At most you'll feel really cold and numb, but you won't suffer from hypothermia.

Magical Girl Weapon: See the previous section. Kazuko's glass slippers are her actual weapon. If she kicks anyone, that's going to hurt a lot. By the same token, magic fired from her feet is a lot more powerful than magic fired from her hands (at the cost of being more difficult to aim properly).

Seer
Character name: Lamorak
Sex/Gender: Male, he/him
Appearance: Lamorak takes on the appearance of an absolutely adorable polar bear, looking bright and energetic and youthful as a result of his plush form. All of this seems deliberately setup to surprise you when you hear his voice: It's the voice of an elderly man, more akin to a voice you'd imagine from a friendly old man who spends his time playing Mahjong with other friendly old men.
Personality: Neat, studious, calm, and never without a gentle smile on his face, Lamorak is literally the most grandfatherly person you'll ever meet. He never raises his voice, provides excellent advice to those willing to hear him out, and believes that today's youth are capable of surpassing him, an eagerness in his eye when he notices any sign of self-improvement in anyone. Lamorak is very loyal, calm under pressure, and the type who forgives very easily, rarely holding grudges. He's an extremely pure-hearted Seer who hopes to positively influence as many people as he can so that he can say he's lived a good life that he can be proud of.

While Lamorak spends a lot of his free time on self-improvement, he also enjoys very ancient board games that Kazuko does not know the rules of. Ancient obscure board games like Mahjong, or Chess, or Shogi. As a cautious person, Lamorak tends not to play with people who gamble on these games. Lamorak is also extremely knowledgeable in most regards except for technology, which he struggles to comprehend, not being able to tell the difference between a smartphone and a bag phone.

To note some negative characteristics: Lamorak is fairly easy to trick, and despite being serious enough, his belief in other people can often make him come across as if he isn't taking things seriously enough. Lamorak also has difficulty relating to Kazuko's self-esteem issues and also any mental health problems in general, his good-natured advice often coming across as patronizing instead due to his lack of understanding in that area.

Spoiler : Application :
Character Name: Thorne Ikuhara
Sex/Gender: Trans girl, She/her
Age: 15
Appearance:
Image
Personality: Thorne is a quiet girl who can be rather difficult to approach-- She gives off the vibe of a cool, aloof kid who's too cool for school, when in reality she's just a complete mess and constantly scrambling for something to say. She simply needs a lot of time to open up to people, but once she has, she becomes quite loyal and protective. Thorne cares deeply for her friends; perhaps a bit too much, and her greatest fear is losing someone close to her, so she does everything in her power to stop that from happening. This makes her brave and courageous at best, but also reckless and anxious at worst. She can be so worried over her friendships that she'll end up being dishonest with herself, or convincing herself that she has to do things nobody really thought.
Backstory: Thorne was born and raised in Soggan, and had trouble making friends. Her only real interest was watching TV shows, mainly, Magical Girl cartoons. Her interest eventually brought her to a girl named Rose, a magical girl fanatic who quickly befriended her over their shared interest. Together they went on various adventures as children-- Rose helped Thorne start to express things about herself and get into trouble, and Thorne protected Rose from said trouble she was constantly getting into.
One day, Thorne encountered a strange creature that seemed to be chasing after them-- A creature calling itself "Chili", who wanted Rose to become a REAL magical girl. But when Thorne saw the Ghouls they were meant to fight and realized the danger Rose would be in, she demanded that Chili make the pact with her instead. Reluctantly, the deal was made, and Thorne now tries to hide her magical girl identity from her best friend.
Other: Thorne's scarf was handmade by Rose, so she's very protective of it.

Magical Girl Appearance:
Image
Magical Girl Powers: Thorne has the ability to grow magical thorny vines either from her body, or from an object she “plants” her magic into by touch. Her vines can grow rapidly and are controlled by Thorne, enabling her to use them to snare foes, hold objects, or tie things down. Individually, her vines are not particularly strong and can be cut with an average hedge clipper, but multiple together increase their power by many times, allowing them to withstand objects the size of a semi truck. Her thorns can extend rapidly across great lengths, but the longer the vines, the more energy they take up. Alternatively, she can wrap thorns around herself for use in close combat fighting.
Magical Girl Weapon: Magical Scythe, decorated with winding thorns.

Seer name: Chili
Sex/Gender: F
Appearance: Looks like a cute plush squirrel, if it had then been painted by a biker gang-- She has a tuft of red and orange hair atop her head designed to look like a mohawk, and her long fluffy tail is lined with hot rod flames. She wears a cutesy skull around her neck on a gold chain, and a black vest like that of a biker. The rest of her fur is gray.
Personality: Chili is an energetic and feisty creature who thinks herself much cooler than she is. She'd fight the Ghouls herself if she could. She'll often attempt to be cool or badass, but being a squirrel, it doesn't have much effect. Chili doesn't consider Thorne up to snuff as a magical girl, and takes it upon herself to try and get her to be cooler, more popular, and more heroic. She also likes to tease her about her relationship with Rose.
Other: She originally sought out Rose as her magical girl, and saw much more potential in her than Thorne.

Something has come up, and I need to back out of the RP unexpectedly. My apologies.

Note: Some elements of this app were sent to DSY privately. It may seem like I just, didn't create some sections, but they have been sent for approval over PM, so don't worry about that for now.
Spoiler : Ruby Chakraborty :
Magical Girl
Character Name: Ruby Chakraborty

Sex/Gender:
Female, She/Her

Age: 16

Appearance: Image

Left = Casual, Right = Magical Girl.
Her skin is somewhat dark (naturally so), and most of her clothing is a black/very dark blue. Her right eye is red, and her left is yellow. The back of her hair (including the buns) is a deep black, while her bangs are a deep reddish pink. This same pink accents her outfit in a few places, like the scarf and the lines on her top. She stands at about 5'7". For style purposes, she has hearts in her eyes.

Personality: Ruby is eccentric and a massive dorkwad. Aside from just generally being fond of nerdish culture like video games, anime, cartoons, comic books, and a bizarrely particular love for cinema, she seems to have what can be described as "chuunibyo", or "8th-grader syndrome." Essentially, she acts as though she has demonic powers far exceeding that of anyone around her, and that she is a chosen one divined by the great demons in Hell to judge all the evil in the world. She refers to her miscolored eyes (which nobody knows if they are really her eye color or not) as the eyes of heaven and hell, and that her Heavenly Golden Eye is the only thing locking the power within the Crimson Eye of Satan. She is incredibly committed to this delusion, so she lacks close friends and nobody seems to know much about her, let alone whether or not she genuinely believes what she says about herself. She is incredibly excitable and always willing to be a ham to an audience - she's nothing of not an extrovert.

Backstory: Little is known about Ruby's past, as she keeps much of it a secret. It is known she is Indian-American, and that her ranting about having demonic powers has grown since late elementary school. Since nobody is fully willing to talk to her, usually, nobody has fully bothered to actually learn what her deal is. All that is known is that she insists she has hellish powers kept under wraps by her golden eye, she insists that her eye colors are natural (but avoids the question in regards to her hair), and she knows a lot about nerd culture and movies. Students have historically noted that she doesn't seem like a bad girl, if only she weren't kind of obnoxious and hard to read.

In magical girl form, she refers to herself as the "Magical Hell Demon", among other things, and insists that she has control over the black flames of hell, but she has not actually been seen in direct combat by anybody as of this point.

Other: Headcanon Voice: Lindsay Siedel (Maya Fey in Ace Attorney, Kino in Kino's Journey 2017, Akane Shinjo in SSSS.Gridman, Celestia Ludenberg in Danganronpa: The Animation)

Magical Girl Appearance: See picture in section 1. Largely the same color scheme as her normal outfit, with added white accents on the frills. Her dress has opened to reveal the cage that maintains its shape, and the large sleeves cover her hands and then some. She has an eyepatch over her yellow eye, suggesting she "has sealed away the angelic limitations", and a pair of dark horns replaces her usual pointy hair buns. She often uses a deeper voice for this form, though breaks into her normal high-pitched voice often when she doesn't think about it.

Magical Girl Powers: Currently unknown. She claims it to be "Black Hellfire", but she has not yet actually been seen using it.

Magical Girl Weapon: Currently unknown. She has yet to be seen physically wielding any weapon, or even call attention to her having one.

Seer
Character name: Beelzebun

Sex/Gender: Male

Appearance: See bottom of picture above. He's a rabbit of average size, if a bit round, with black fur and white highlights on the ears, paws, tail, eye scar, and chest pentagram. His eyes are red, and he has tiny bat wings that only sorta keep him flying.

Personality: Unlike Ruby, who seems to be jovial about her speak of demons and hell, Beelzebun genuinely, actually wants to spread an evil Satanic influence over the world. Despite his appearance, he has a deep, evil voice, and constantly tells Ruby to use her powers to lay waste to the mortals, seemingly being all for a total apocalypse. Ruby tends to largely ignore him, which frustrates him greatly. His genuinely evil nature is put off by how adorable he is, and the fact he can't do much with his bunny paws or without Ruby, so he's mostly just telling Ruby evil demonic things to do and getting upset when she doesn't. Others seem to mostly just hear cute chippering noises from him - it is unknown whether or not he does this on purpose to hide his machinations, or if he can't control it and hates how adorable he is. He will probably kill us all some day, if he can.

Other: Headcanon Voice: Christopher Guerrero (Ainz Ooal Goan in Overlord, Gecko Moria in One Piece, Impey Barbicane in Code:Realize)

Sorry for late responses I had a lot to think about with some of these apps. The decision I reached was...well..

Kazuko Ota is accepted

Ruby Chakraborty is accepted

Lazyplague and Enthalpy withdrew their characters

I'm going to have to not accept Thorne Ikuhara. Sorry.

RP should start soon. I might also have to update the OP just a tiny tiny bit.
Never speak in absolutes. (Which is a round about of saying I came back. Hi.)
