Spoiler : FAQ :
Q. Is this a crossover with Kaiji?
A. Technically, yes, but not really. It is meant to fit into both the Ace Attorney and the Kaiji universes. Or to be more specific, it's meant to fit into the Super Mystery Wars universe, which is a large crossover setting of mine. However, in this case, you don't need to know anything about any of that. The case is very self contained and any references to other properties are very minor. It also does not spoil anything from other properties. For all intents and purposes, you can treat this case as if it's its own thing. People who've read the Kaiji manga may get one or two minor "Aha!" moments, but that's about it.

Q. I'm seeing some red parts on the loading bar.
A. Yeah, I don't know what's up with that. If it's a large amount, try refreshing. If it's just a small bit on the sound bar, it should be fine. I've had that too and never run into any sounds or music that didn't play in testing.

Champion of Turnabouts is a must play. What TimeAxis managed to pull off in the editor is nothing short of wizardry. For a more in depth review, check out The Miracle Happen ;) competition thread.

I was one of the playtesters and would definitely recommend this!! Hard to begin to describe how impressive what TimeAxis accomplished here really is.

I actually made a fair few story changes based on your feedback as well, so everyone can partially thank drvonkitty for this being in the state it's in. Specifically,
Spoiler : :
The main character originally didn't have a backstory at all (that whole bit with the casino was added after the fact) and their motivations weren't spelled out very well so I made that more clear in a few places, and there wasn't as much interaction between the characters. The true ending was a fair bit shorter originally.

That's great! I gave substantial feedback on the story, and I'm glad to hear you were able to incorporate some of it. I glanced through the editor and really liked the changes I saw! I'll have to give it another play sometime.

I still have yet to beat the story mode, but I'm absolutely loving this so far and can see why it got all the praise it did. Excellent use of both the comp theme and the AAO engine!

As one of the playtesters for this case, I massively recommend it to anyone browsing this thread! It's such an amazing use of the AAO engine, and I can't wait to give it another play now that it's completely finished. Definitely one of my favourite "cases" on the site.

Spoiler : :
Just finished this and I really enjoyed it. I'm a big fan of poker (Played the free online flash games back in the day and watch professional Texas Hold 'em back in the day) and a big fan of Kaiji, so this was right up my alley when I first heard about it in the comp reviews. It goes without saying that this game is a really impressive technical feat on its own and the game is fun enough that I'll definitely be returning to it on occasion in the future, but I liked the story mode a lot too and was very much a worthy inclusion for it to be fleshed out from whatever it was before. I care an incredibly lot about story and the various ways one can be told, like through gameplay, so I felt that the context of the story mode made the gameplay extra fun for me as a result.

It's also incredibly fun to play and extremely satisfying to go through the story mode without the help of Tenyo. I just really like how she may be the Goddess of Luck, but is absolutely terrible at bluffing. Dealt the final blow on her with a 2 while she played an Ace, so that felt like the proper send off to what the story also tried to tell with the true ending. It's a bit hard to figure out the tells and overall strategies without the guide, but that's why it's also there, I suppose. (And you can always rely on the Goddess of Save States if you don't wanna rely on the Goddess of Luck to get the true ending too, I guess.)

Overall, very well done and well deserving of the 2nd place it got in the competition. Thanks for making this, TimeAxis.

Finished this game. Really well done! My quick thoughts:
Spoiler : :
This was fantastic! I kinda whizzed through it at the start and got the "Pride End" first go. Then I lost to Phoenix and did the standard(?) ending and the True ending against Tenyo. It was very fun. I know there are 'tells' but I only noticed them with Trucy, not the others. It was more just knowing when to use a 2 based on the up and down counters that got me through this. All in all a very solid case and a solid game mechanic in its own right.

I just finished the game and I can only say one thing:
HOOOOOOLYYYY SHIIIT. HOW IS THIS SO GOOD?

Like, seriously, It was one of my fav AAO cases in general.
Spoiler : :
The history may not be the most amazing thing ever made, but the One Poker gameplay was way too fun and addicting to even care about the history, the explanation for the rules were understandable even for someone who doesn´t know a crap about poker(like me). I liked trying to figure out strategies on how to beat some bosses(Trucy and Tenyo, although I used the guide to have some help on Trucy). The only downside I noticed was that if you throw an A and the oponent throws a 2, you still win(at least I never lost against a 2), but this was one hell of a case, definitely a must play to everyone.
I only have one question though, are there more endings than the normal, pride and true ones?

Spoiler : :
The enemy probably folded. If they fold, then they lose even if they have a winning card. This happens often with 2s because a 2 is very low, so the AI is very unlikely to be confident enough to assume you'll have an Ace.

Spoiler : :
Nope, you got them all. Congrats.
Glad you enjoyed it.

We've had a QA requested for this trial. I'm planning on having BP do this QA, but he won't be available until after this coming week. Once that time comes, we should hopefully be able to lock in "who is QAing this?"

Good luck!
