There was a thing I was wondering in Discord yet no one could answer me... So I decided to post the same thing here.

Why is Yu Yu Hakusho considered a classic?

I watched (or rather skimmed), through it a few years back, but it just seemed really boring to me. There were people... punching other people. To me it just seemed like a normal shounen, not anything particularly noteworthy. If you compare it to other 90s shounen classics like Hunter x Hunter (world building and inventive) and Rurouni Kenshin (moral dilemmas), it seemed just really... flat. Not to say it's bad (even though I don't like it personally), but I certainly wouldn't call it a classic. Can some fan of the series explain to me why people seem to hold it in such high regard?

So I finished playing through every ending of Steins;Gate 0.
Spoiler : Some pretty major spoilers :
And it was awful. It was just so, so awful. I love the original Steins;Gate and I know I overrate it, so I expected to be a little let down by S;G0, but I never thought I would hate it as much as I do. The first ending I got was Vega and Altair, which is IMO the best route just for the last ~20 minutes or so (I found that the true ending just needlessly complicates things without providing any real closure.), and I sincerely wish I had just stopped playing then. I thought everything up until after Kagari murders thirty armed soldiers using just an assault rifle and two knives to be pretty bad, but the routes actually just kept getting worse and worse. There were a few good moments, like talking to Kurisu in the alpha worldline and Luka talking to Suzuha, but it really felt like every other scene was either a) Mozart, b) Daru almost being a good character and then regressing into a POS at the speed of light, c) Maho's inferiority complex, or d) someone teasing Okabe about any one of his potential love interests in an increasingly grating manner. The one other thing I want to point out before this turns into paragraphs and paragraphs of criticism is that the only new character S;G0 introduced that wasn't super boring was Maho, and her entire character was tragically stuffed into scenarios a), c) and occasionally scenario e), recaping S;G to Maho. And I want to say the returning characters are great, but they are either barely in it (Moeka, Luka), constantly fall back on their most basic quirks (Daru, Mayuri), not as interesting as their original iterations (Okabe, Suzuha, Kurisu), or have obnoxious gloves.
EDIT: Was seeing red here. I don't actually have any problems with Suzuha or Mayuri, the latter of which was probably done better overall in 0.

Guh. I just needed to get that off my chest. I really want to like S;G0, but I struggle to name more than five instances where I was actually enjoying it.
