I did consider that happening, actually. Speaking of the rest of the post, I think we're being overly cautious here.

Now that the patch for Case 1 and 2 has been released... Will there be updates to the spoiler rules?

Not until all the patches are released. Otherwise it's going to be difficult specifying which things are allowed and which aren't.

Can't you lift spoilers for Cases 1 and 2 for story though...?

I'm afraid I'll need a better reason than "it'd made sense". :) I know you really want to use some GK2 assets in your trials, and it wouldn't be a problem for me personally if we allowed it.

However, it would be a problem for others. The translation patch isn't widely circulated yet. We'll see how well it proliferates over the next few months. :)

...But it would make sense :P We have both the patch for the first two cases and video translation that has already covered the vast majority of final case. And I don't think we have many fans here that are playing many fangames here on AAO and didn't even hear of the patched game yet. :P

For the purposes of clarification...

I had heard that there was an unwritten exception to the spoiler rules in that opinions on confirmed material, as long as they didn't make absolutely explicit statements about un-confirmed material, were acceptable. (Example: Talking about what one thought of returning characters in a way that implies but does not explicitly confirm their role in the case(s) in which they appear.) I also heard that it was acceptable to discuss unconfirmed aspects of confirmed material, as long as it didn't pertain to anything "major." (Example: Talking about a specific non-plot-related dialogue with a confirmed character.)

Are these really exceptions? I would appreciate an answer from an official moderator/administrator.

No, they are not real exceptions. :)
