Wreck-It Ralph

Post by Gumpei »

First, watch this. Just do it. You'll regret it if you don't.

Yes, it's basically "What if Pixar made a video game movie?" and it looks awesome.

Comes out in November. Can't wait.

Totally wasn't expecting this at all! :P

To be honest, I don't think it looks THAT good, but it looks... hopeful.

10:1 that group therapy meeting isn't in the actual movie. But still! Looks AWESOME. Though it's kinda funny, Sarah Silverman, John C. Reily, Jane Lynch... they aren't known for their child-friendly roles. XD

Even if it isn't in the movie, the villains featured in it themselves will be appearing.

EDIT: Also, in case you weren't quite haiped enough...

"...it's helmed by Rich Moore, the animator and director who worked on "Futurama" and early episodes of "The Simpsons" when it was actually good."

Now THIS is how to cater to an audience! I didn't expect my mind to be blown like this today! Moment I saw Eggman and Bowser? My mind was just BLOWN. And cameos aside, the movie looks great. I can't wait for this gem to come out!

I'm not sure how I feel about it, other than I want to see it.

I kind of do hope that the popular game characters remain just cameos and references, because A) it lets them include more of them and B) it avoids sounding kind of like a ridiculous fanboy dream so they can focus on telling the story.

Which they aren't. :) It's being made by Walt Disney Animation Studios.

Ever since I found out about it last year, I've been worried that it'll turn into another rubbish Disney flick like the ones they've made in the 2000s. Seeing the trailer has gotten me even more worried. It looks like a typical Dreamworks film. If only Walt's nephew Roy was still alive...

But I haven't even seen it, so I'll shut up! And just because it might not end up becoming a Disney classic doesn't mean it won't be good. If game publishers are willing to trust Disney with their IPs, then it must have a good story! I'm sure I'll get more hyped up about it when they release a bit more info. :D

I know this is being nitpicky, but Wreck it Ralph is a Disney movie. Not a Pixar one. Pixar has since disbanded from Disney (Sort of not really kind of)

Are you sure. John Lassater (Pixar's founder, likened to Walt Disney) seems to have a leading role at every company that Disney owns, these days. :XD:
