Thank you!

Did you do Harmon's mouth from scratch or end up pulling it from a character?

This is a nitpick I mentioned before and not a big deal but...because of the way ties are tied (unless you have one of those cool knots) any stripes on the knot bit of the tie would be in the opposite direction to the stripes on the rest of the tie.

I'm back again! I'm admitting Matthew again. However this time he's a little different.
Spoiler : The sprite in question :
Image
This is the bench sprite I've been working on for almost the space of 6 months. (Yes, it's taken me six months to get this far.) However, he is suffering with some acute eye and hair issues. (I've tried everything to get eyes to look a little softer but I can never get the perspective correct... same goes for his missing eyebrow...)
It's not a big issue that needs to be fixed quickly but the quicker it's done the better it is for me. also feel free to fix anything else you may see (Cause I don't make sprites for a hobby. Like I said this took me about 6 months to get this far with just a bench sprite.)

the main reason his eyes may look weird is because there are no eyebrows. That'll help with seeing the face as a whole. It looks really nice at the moment though! I like how you straightened Apollo's back, instead of keeping him slumped forward. :larry:

Thanks. Since my character is quite a refined type of person I though his posture should match that. Straight back, Hand behind it, ect.

Also Even with the eyebrows it looked... weird? I think that's the word I'm looking for?

Maybe you could adjust the spacing of the eyes a tiny bit? It looks fine to me, but maybe they're a little close together?

Hmm... You think so? I'll look into it tonight.

It's nice to see you're still going at it. The struggle is understandable...there's a lot more to bench sprites than there seems. I did a thing.

Spoiler : Long :
It looks like you were caught up in pixels instead of trying to change it in broad forms. What I mean is something like this with the eyebrow:

Image
(Look at the 2x version. The 4x is there so you can see which pixels are changing the look of the 2x more clearly)

Since you're after dramatic new things, erase anything that exists. Start with an idea like "Make it softer". Then take the darkest (or lightest) colour and draw the general shape of the idea. It's a fuzz but that's ok, take the next shade and make the fuzz "lean" a bit. If you aren't doing it already, have a second window open where you can see a zoomed out version for instant feedback since otherwise it looks like a mess of pixels. This is what it looks like in Photoshop, I know other software has it, you might have to look it up. Keep going with the shades, always watch the small zoomed-out version with more focus, and be careful not to over-blur.

It's ok if the idea changes as you go but so long as you know what you want it to look like it's fine.

I also helped make the face look less Apollo-ish by pushing back a lot of the distinctive bits in Apollo's skull. I drew a thing to explain a bit better.

Image

Try to visualise the skulls in 3D and relate them to the actual faces. This would help with how to place things in perspective...all those guides which say to draw various facial features at certain half/third marks is really talking about the position of eye-sockets etc from the very simplified 3D shapes sketched on the right. If you're visualising what the skull looks like then putting the features on top would be easy. It's hard and will take practice definitely.
Good luck :) Let me know if anything is confusing.

I like how Herr Forehead's skull has the word 'Forehead' in the actual forehead.

I am generally pleased with this. Thank you! I'll keep this in mind when I make more!
